Apex Displays Leicester Ltd (ADL) are committed to the environment.
ADL are committed to green policies and the implementation of proactive measures to help protect and sustain the environment for future generations.
We recognise the impact of our industry on the environment and aim to be increasingly efficient in the way we procure and utilise materials. We strive to minimise any detrimental effects that our normal activities may have as a result of our organisational operations.
Whilst we use a great many variations of high end materials in the manufacture processes of the furniture we produce we strive to resource as materials as possible from sustainable sources and or suppliers where possible. We use a high volume of timber based materials in our organisation and we recognise that by using timber products this carries important environmental responsibilities, and when properly managed is far preferable to the use of other materials.
Using in-house software we minimise wastage of timber products by optimising the utilisation of timber sections that would usually be classed as waste and thereby reducing the amount of offcuts and rejects that we dispose of which in turn reduces the amount of waste generated by the normal joinery process.
Recycling is also a key part of our waste management policy. It is important to recycle as it takes considerably less energy to recycle than to source or make from new. One area in which we optimise the joinery waste for recycling purposes is to utilise waste timber based materials (not fit for re-use ) as a heat source and this is packaged and donated on a non-profit basis.
We also look to conserve natural resources through the responsible use of energy, water and materials including reducing carbon emissions by the use of logistics for our delivery and customer facing fleet.
We can all contribute to making a cleaner and safer environment and ensure environmental issues remain a focal point and receive proper attention.
ADL strive to comply with relevant environmental legislation where possible and takes a proactive approach to any future requirements and obligations.
